Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas
I am the power of attorney for my aunt. She has not payed her taxes on her home/land. I was going to make the payment. Her health is not looking good and she may not make it. If i pay taxes and pass due electric bill can the propety be taken by the state or medicare? I do not wish to make any payment if this is going to happen. There is not will. She does have a sister(my mother) living but she does not have any concern about the property. We are located in Texas
Thanks
Kenneth

if your aunt should die, the property will go by intestate succession. If she is on Medicaid, then, in that event, the Medicaid organization will have a right to come after the property in probate. There is no guarantee that you would receive your money back.
