if someone dies and is not legally married does blood mother have rights to make descisions?

Presuming that you are the one not legally married, you would have to prove that your relationship met the legal requirement of a common law spouse. Then your status could be changed to that of a wife and you could be in charge. Not as easy as it sounds. If this means a lot to you either financially or otherwise, better get a lawyer. Good Luck.
