Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

probate

My foster dad passed away in Dallas, Texas and left everything to my son, brother and myself equally. I live in a different city and have been trying to take care of things from here. I have been told that the probate has to be done in Dallas County. Can an attorney do any kind of probate on behalf of our family without us having to be there?

Re: probate

Absolutely. Probate in Texas is simple and inexpensive - provided that it is uncontested. For a simple, uncontested probate in Dallas County, expect to pay under $2,000 for an attorney to help with the matter. The executor will need to make a trip here to provide testimony at the prove-up and the hearing can be scheduled to work out with your schedule.
