Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

My husband's grandmother is very sick in the hospital and may die very soon. His father is her son, but he is in jail and his mother is re married. His mother took his younger brother and sister to the hospital without us being aware and his younger brother signed some ''papers'' i am un aware of. What steps should we take so that everything is goes the way it is supposed to? This is our first time having to deal with something in this matter.
