In the state of Texas, how does the executor of a will get Letter of Testimentary? Can it be gotten without using an attorney?

You need to make an application to the court to get Letters Testamentary. It's possible to do it without an attorney, but I wouldn't recommend it. If the will is done properly, then you can get letters issued for a small fee at most probate law firms.
