Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

probate/credit card

My mother just recently died. She left behind 2 huge credit card bills. Am I obligated to pay these? What will happen if I don't? I have made payment arrangements but signed nothing. The payments are high. My mom did own her home but the tax value is less than $5000.00. She left a will but it has not been probated yet. Does it need to be probated and why? What can I do legally and what will they do? Please advise

Re: probate/credit card

If you mother had any property..house/or bank accounts..you may need to probate the will. Creditors cannot collect unless you promise to pay. They have to make claims thru probate and will not if no property. Call us if you wish
