property of nursing home patients

my father needs to go to a nursing home. i live at home with him . the home and property is in his name. i plan to remain in the home after he dies. he currently receives medicare and medicaid. is there a possiblity his assets could be taken as payment for the nursing home? his will has me as sole beneficiary.

Medicaid may take the house as reimbursement for his expenses. For this reason, advance planning is a must well in advance to getting into the Medicaid program. You should talk to an attorney so see if you have any options.
