Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas
recently i put in a claim to receive insurance money on my mother. I just received a $2100 check paid to the estate of my mother who has been dead for six years.
What do I need to do to cash this check.

Was any probate ever done on your mother? (Did she have a will?) If yes, then the court order should have either issued letters testamentary (get a new one and present it to the bank) or an order approving the will as a muniment of title (show the court order to the bank.)
If not, then you can likely get a small estate affidavit prepared for a few hundred dollars.
