Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas
Remarriage
I am in a second marriage. My husband's first wife is deceased. We each have two adult children. We are living in the home he and his first wife built. I still own my home I was living in before we were married. It is in my name only, however, he paid off the loan of $44,000. If we were to divorce or he were to die, what would my rights be as far as the property, life insurance, retirement, etc?
What would become of the wills we each had written in our previous marriages? What should I do in order to protect myself if we were to divorce?
Please give me as much advice in this whole area as possible. Thank you.

Re: Remarriage
You should speak to an attorney and have your will updated.
Re: Remarriage
The wills from previous marriages are read as if the prior spouse predeceased the decedent.
For proper protection, etc. see a lawyer and go over all your questions in detail. You have too much at stake to try and get by with free legal advice.
