Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

repossion charges

Is it legal to have to pay for reconditioning charges on cars that have been repossed? I am the executor of my fathers estate and there were 3 cars that had to be repossed. One was in his name and the other 2 he had co-signed for a daughter and granddaughter.

On one of the cars they have charged over 1300.00 in reconditioning charges more than was owed on the note. Also if there

many left after the estate is settled can the amount that was paid toward the sisters car be appied to her share. Thanks John

Re: repossion charges

Without seeing any of the paperwork it is not possible to say whether the post-repossession charges are "legal" or not, but odds are they were.

As for your grandfather's estate, if you have an attorney you should be asking him or her these questions. If you don't, you should seriously consider hiring one. As executor you are in need of real legal advise.
