Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

No response from Atty.

What can I do if the atty. that was hired by another family member to handle deceased brother's estate does not return my phone calls for 2 wks and now the atty. receptionist will hang up on me when I call? The family member who hired the atty. does not talk to me. What can I do to get information w/o having to hire another atty.? I live in Dallas, TX and the atty. is in McAllen, TX. which makes it difficult for me to go to his office. Also, do bank acct. w/o POD go through probate? If not how are the accts. distributed?

Re: No response from Atty.

That's a coincidence, I'm in McAllen, TX. But he is hired to represent the other family member, not you. So if you want to know what's going on in the estate, you'll have to hire your own attorney. You can get online to view the court's docket sheet at iDocket.com, but that's only the documents that have been filed with the court. Other happenings are not likely to be listed.
