Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

My son is being deployed, before he left we filled out a power of attorney to cover his bank account, cell phone bill and storage unit. When he took it to base to have it on file the Navy said he needed to have one of their power of attorney forms. So now I have two power of attorney forms that say the same thing and his bank won't accept either one. The one that we filled out clearly states that I have the right to do his banking for him. The bank won't let me have access to his account. What can I do?

Find a bank that will accept one of powers of attorney. Use it to open an account there in your son's name. Ask the bank to transfer the funds from your son's old account to the new account (they may be able to do it.) If not, have your son write and mail a letter to his old bank telling them to tranfer all funds in his account to his new account at the nicer bank, and to then close his old account.
