Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

What does surviorship on a checking acct. mean? I have an acct. with my mother. She passed away in July and on the signature card, she put that I have suviorship on the acct. Please let me know if that means that I am entitled to the money that is in that acct. from the day that she passed away.
