Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

What does this term mean?

One of the Library patrons has been appointed Independant Executor of her brother's will. She wiishes to known just what this means...especially the *Independant* part.

She says not everyone considers her executorship valid because of this word. Thanks

Re: What does this term mean?

"Independent," if that is what the will stated, simply means that after the will has been admitted to probate, the executor/rix administers the estate pursuant to the terms of the will and the probate laws without court oversight. However, the indenpendent executor must follows the terms and law throughout the probate process.
