last well and testment

my wife father past, he left a car and a home to her. question, what will we need to do to have the home and car put in her name.

the car has only 1 payments made on it and I have been paying the moragage for 5 years the house and car are in his name?

If your father in law left a valid will leaving the house and car to your wife, then the will needs to be probated and the house deeded to your wife from the estate and the car transferred to your wife from the estate.

How did the father in law leave her the property? Was there a will? If so, then the will needs to be probated. If not, then there are several procedures that you can do to clear title to the house and car into the heir's names. The types of procedures are fact specific.
