Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

The texas attorney general has filed a lien and taken the drivers license of my ex husband for back child support of 32,000+ . he recently inherited approximately 18,000 the ag presented the lien to the probate attorney. He turned it over to interpkeader. My ex offered me a settlement of 8,000 saying otherwise he will invoke a 37b of probate law. This says he can assign the money to anyone. He says he will put it in a trust for his minor child by his current wife. The probate judge tol us to work it out.the attorney general asked for a summary judgement date set for june 8. Lawyers i have consulted with says it will be up to tje judge if he allows that or not a toss up. Should i take the offer and get only 1/2 of the money or risk court?

I hope you called your ex-husband's bluff. Don't settle. He's a liar and a deadbeat.

By the way, I don't think you can settle without the approval of the Attorney General.
