Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

trust law

does a bank have the obligation to be consistent in its criteria for distributng to the children who participate in a trust..more money was given to my sister about ten years ago.. now when I want an equal distribution they say that the old regime of the bank was more liberal than the current trust officers and that they are not obligated to give the same to me. The will does state to distribute '' by need '' but how can they define need ? she got the money to pay off debt but they now say they wll not distribute to pay off debt. Am I just at their mercy. The trust officer says''don't waste your money getting a lawyer ''.

Re: trust law

Need is a subjective provision, i.e. depends on who needs it. The trust money belongs to you. If you need it, looks like you'll have to fight for it. Hire an attorney and seek attorneys fees. Good Luck.
