Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Type of will

My wife and I have just moved to he USA from the UK and need to put together a will suitable for the state of Texas. We need a will that copes with the fact that as a couple we have no children yet my wife has an adult daughter from her previous marriage. I did not legally adopt my step-daughter.

Where could we find a will to meet our situation?

Re: Type of will

You need to consult with a lawyer. This is not that expensive and much more effective than pouring through form books at your local law library

Re: Type of will

Preparing your own wills is penny wise and pound foolish. If you make an error that voids the will, you die intestate. The cost of probating an intestate estate is at least $1,000 more than probating a valid will. Of course it's too late for the mistake to be corrected...

Hire a lawyer. The cost of wills should not be particularly expensive unless you're dealing with a taxable estate.
