Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas
verbal will
My step father of 23 years left me the money in his checking account, he gave me poa, my step-sister found out and took me to court to get guardianship of him. He still wants me to have the money, but she will not listen to him. He has not talked or had anything to do with 1 daughter in 30 years, 1 son in 10 years and the daughter who took me to court in 2 years. I have been the one to do whatever he needed, he left them 50,000 in an insurance policy, he wanted me to have checking account( 100,000 as of 11/08) and has told many, many people this, he will still tell you that right now. What can I do?

Re: verbal will
Once a guardian of his estate was appointed, it really doesn't matter what your step father says anymore because the Court found that he was not competent to handle his own financial affairs. If the duaghter prevailed over you in being appointed as his guardian there may not be much you can do.
