Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

My wife died 2+ years ago witout a will. We owned property together. she had 1 grown daughter from a previous marriage. I want to put property in my name alone.

If I file a affidavit of heirship which will list the daughter what will I need to do to have property in my name alone?

Daughter will need to file a deed. Have a law office or title company do this for you (it's usually pretty inexpensive.)

Her daughter inherited your wife's 1/2 the house, after your life estate in the homestead, under intestate succession. She will need to deed her 1/2 to you and might require that you purchase her interest. However, if she does not cooperate, you inherited a life estate in your wife's half and can't be forced to move.
