how can a will be changed after it goes into effect

I'm not sure what you mean by "after it goes into effect." If you mean, after the document has been signed and executed, you can simply do a codicil or just a new document. If you mean the testator has died, then there is nothing you can do. You cannot change it though I presume you mean the first scenario. Let me know if I can be of any help. Good luck!
