Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

will for deceased

My son in law's mother passed away about 2 months ago. His older brother has taken charge of everything to include locking all others out of the house. He knows there is a will but no one, except older brother, has seen it. How can my son in law find out what is in the will and does he have any rights regarding the household contents and memories?

Re: will for deceased

I believe there is a procedure for this in the Texas Probate Code. Your son in law needs to see an attorney. I practice in the San Antonio Area and would be happy to assist.

If there is a will, your son in law's rights are determined by that document. If there is no will, or the will does not cover the household property, Texas law determines his property rights.
