No Will

My, Grandmother raised me. She died twenty years ago. she left behind two homes and property in various areas .I have brother who is in one home but uses it as a storage unit. there is sevev years back taxes on both homes. can I buy the homes for the back taxes and move in

You can't buy the property for back taxes until there's a tax sale.

You'd want to speak with a probate attorney about probating your grandmother's estate; assuming your grandfather had a will that was probated. Otherwise you may have to look at probating his estate first to see who the proper owners should be.

You might be able to acquire these houses through a muniment of title with affidavits of heirship. Then, if you pay the back taxes you would have a claim on the properties, but there is a redemption period on tax sales.
