Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

will

Hello,

could you please tell me whom to ask about inheritance law in the US? If this is the right place, here goes:

An old texan lady, still alive, states in her will, that 3 close relatives (nephews etc.) get the equal amount (high percentage) of her values, and her about 15 not so close relatives (i.e. children of her nephews) get an equal amount (lower percentage).

What happens if one of the 3 close relatives dies before the old lady does? What happens with that amount?

Thank you,

Re: will

It depends on what the will says. If it is distributed per stirpes, then their share goes on down to their heirs. It it is distributed per capita, then their heirs get nothing and the remaining survivors get that portion.
