Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Will of my inlaws

My husbands parents both passed, he is named executive of estate. His son is listed of getting equal shares of the estate. The property has been probated. We know the intent of the grandparents, they did not mean 50/50. They just meant be fair, now he has obtained a lawyer requesting acounting of estate. What do we have to list. Life insurance policies, jewelry, cars, property are remaining. They also gifted us property before their deaths, what can he legally obtain? What do we legally have to account for?

What the testator meant is no longer an issue. The document is controlling. You must account for property in his estate at the time of his death. Life insurance policies are not part of the estate.
