Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas
If a will states that everything that is left behind after death is to be split equally between four siblings, does this include a life insurance policy that named a designated beneficiary or is he entitled to keep it all for himself ?

insurance is distributed by contract to beneficiary...and not part of probate estate..so the beneficiary may keep the money

Typically, life insurance is not included in the estate, and is not distributed by will. The exceptions are if there is a court order directing otherwise (such as in a divorce or lawsuit) or the will specifically names a trust.
