Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Last Will and Testament

Do I need a lawyer to sign my Last Will and Testament, or can I just have it notarized?

Also, is there a difference in a will and a last will and testament? Thank you.

Re: Last Will and Testament

A will in Texas can be entirely in your own handwriting, and be valid if dated and signed. Other than that, there are certain necessary formalities in order to make the will valid.

A do-it-yourself will is almost the surest way to see that your estate goes to the probate lawyers. If the cost of a will is a problem for you, shop around and see what lawyers in your area are charging.
