Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Wills

My father passed away this past June. He had been married to his current wife for some time. She has 4 grown children and many grandchildren, etc. They were always finding ways to sponge off of him. However, my brother was privy to certain financial information that my father had given him regarding various accounts, etc. We have heard nothing from his wife regarding a will or anything to do with inheritance. My question is, is there any way for me to find out from the courthouse in his county if a will was ever filed or probated? I am not greedy but I feel my brother's children and mine are entitled to at least what her grandchildren have received. Since no one on that side is talking to us, can anyone please tell me how to find out this information?

Thank you.

Re: Wills

You can contact the county clerk in the county where he lived and ask if a probate has been opened.

Re: Wills

You can go to or call the Probate Clerk in the county of your father's residence to see if probate has been opened. If none has been opened, it is possible that Dad did not have a will. If that is the case, you can open probate (you'll need an attorney) as an heir.
