How do I find the attorney

of a person who had a known will?

It is not possible to know, since the attorney client relationship is confidential. You also do not know if the "known will" was revoked later or if another will was made after the one you know about. You should search relatives, friends and acquaintances to discover which lawyer might have been advising that person.

Unless the will has been filed with the probate clerk, the only way of finding out anything is to ask members of the family who may have knowledge. Check with the probate clerk in the county where the decedent resided to see if probate has been opened. If so, the file will list the attorneys.
