Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

wills

My ex mother-in-law just past away in March my ex-husband no longer talks to me. How do i find out if she left anything to our three children when she past away. I believe she had a will, but don't know who the attorney is, and i don't know anyone other than my ex that would know because he is an only child. Please help because I believe she might have left something to my children, but if she did and he knew he would never tell me.

Re: wills

If her Will has been filed for probate, it will be in the records of the county in which she lived/owned property. You (or someone on your behalf) can go look at the file and read the Will.

Re: wills

You must search the records of the county where she died and/or where she resided, to see if a probate has been opened and if a will was filed in that probate matter. If there was real estate owned by her, there should be a probate opened. I cannot tell you when, that is up to her son or who ever decides to file.
