Legal Question in Workers Comp in Texas

Hi,

I had a injury at work 2 yrs back on my low back.

During the treatment ( within 2-3 months), I also started feeling a pain on my left leg and my workers comp insurance were paying up my treatment expenses.

I too felt that it was part of the work injury, as there were no other incident after that, which might have caused my left leg pain.

Suddenly, the insurance guys have stopped the left leg treatment stating that its not part of work injury, and ordered a independent doc appt.

On checkup, he just spent 5 minutes over the documents and concluded that this was not part of work injury.

All the doctors who have treated me have mentioned that left leg pain seemed to be part of work injury, but I dont how the independent doctor refused it.

I am really shocked and dont know what to do?

Should I appeal against this?

And if so, do I have to repay back any expenses that insurance firm has done on the left leg?

Please advise.

Thank you in advance.

THERE ARE WAYS TO APPEAL. DO NOT DO THIS WITHOUT A LAWYER

You should not give a statement, give access to your medical information or sign any insurance company forms without speaking to a lawyer.

The insurance company is not your friend and is not concerned with your injuries and pain.

Their goal is to make $ by paying as little as possible on the claim. They will frustrate you by delaying payment, giving you a low offer, or denying claim hoping you will get mad and go away.

I should know because I worked as a lawyer for insurance companies for 10 years.

I would be more than happy to talk with you about the accident. I can be reached at (214) 800-3454 and my office is in Dallas.
