Legal Question in Workers Comp in Texas
i was hurt on the job lifting boxes. i went to tell the superviseor and asked to leave and get tylenol.he said it was o.k.the next day i went to the e.r. the doctor gave a ct and said i had a bulging disc and to stay out a week and to see a nerosurgen. i called my employer and took in the paper work from the e.r. and then they sent me to take a drug test wich i past.then had me see their doctor ,who took x rays and said to return to work the following day. my question is, do i have to go by the info provided by their doctor or can i use my own? and in that case do i have to pay for it and the perscriptions,or does workmens comp cover it and the week i was told to take off? im very confused.

The first question that needs answered is whether your employer has workers compensation.
You need to report the claim to the TX Division of Workers Compensation at 800-252-7031. Provide the name of your employer as stated on your paycheck and the date of accident. Ask them how to get your bills paid if there is confirmation of workers compensation insurance.
If there is no workers compensation, your employer is called a "non-subscriber" and you should hire a personal injury attorney.
I handle these cases. You may contact me at (214) 800-3454 or send a confidential e-mail to [email protected]
