Legal Question in Workers Comp in Texas
what can I do?
I pulled a muscle in my abdomen a week--name removed--so ago, and my employer is what I consider harassing me about the entire situation. I dont understand why, because I am really not filing for any lost wages--name removed--anything like that, I just went to the doctor after they advised me to, and the doctor put me--name removed--light duty and some medications. My employer stood over me for 15 minutes a few days later yelling all sorts--name removed--accusations about my previous medical history (which he should have NO idea about if HIPPA is doing its job) and told me that I was faking the entire injury. When I referenced the Dr's report, my employer said that he personally spoke to the Dr, who said there was nothing wrong at all with me, which conflicts the report I was given after being evaluated, so this might be my employer trying to bait me. Im confused and very angered over this hostility and have quit because--name removed--all this. What are my rights and what can I do?

Re: what can I do?
you must file a work comp claim in case your injury is severe...and while you may have a claim against your doctor and employer for violation of privacy, it does not sound economical....but file a claim so you will receive medical treatment if needed....and talk to your doctor...don't just think of litigation
