Legal Question in Workers Comp in Texas
What State laws are applicable?
If my business is based and incorporated in Florida, and I take a job from a client based in Alabama to do work in Texas (where I hire temporary employees), which state's Workers Comp laws are applicable to my job.

This question is ambiguous and difficult to answer. If your principal place of business is in Florida or the contract for work was in this state, but you are injured outside the state of Florida, Fl law applies. However, if you hire people to do a job in another state and they are injured in that state, more likely than not the other state's laws apply. One would have to look to that state's laws to be sure. You should have an attorney in the other state look at this issue.
