Legal Question in Workers Comp in Texas

Stress, illness, and work

I'm currently in a high-stress job that is intellectually demanding and requires long hours. I've seen both my primary care physician and a behavioral health clinician for physical and mental effects of stress. I've asked my boss for help, asked to be reassigned, and no progress has been made in either of these areas.

In addition, I am being treated for a medical condition that will continue for the rest of my life. I have a neurological sleep disorder that is not curable; only treatable with medication and behavior. I'm on medication to stay alert during the workday, but after completing my work I can barely function to complete my activities of daily living. My condition seems to be exacerbated due to the stress at work.

Am I eligible for Worker's Compensation and leave/treatment for stress and the exacerbation of my medical condition?

Is this a potential disability case?

Re: Stress, illness, and work

We handle work comp cases primarily and in my opinion, this is not a work comp case. It may be a disability case if you have disability insurance and social security disability ifyour doctors say you are not capable of performing any substantial work...but if young, it is hard..
