Legal Question in Workers Comp in Texas

I worked for a reputible Cabinet Shop here in Houston area and yes I had tennis elbo (later diagnosed as "cellulitis of arm")While at work it begin to bleed and was inflamed of which I myself attempted to treat/bandage myself. My employer ordered that I go to hospitial at their expense. I was treated with antibioitcs, then surgical procedure to scrape and pack elbow. I believe a total of 3-4 visits and upon each visit was release back to employer with instructions of "limit use of right arm" and noted a "Texas Worker's Compensation work status report attached to release. I believe my last visit was on 7/29/09 and then on August 5, 2009 I was layed off due to economy cut back. I find this a little too coincidental that I'm not even healed from my work related injury then laid off after being employed with them 18 years. Also due to fact my co-worker who is older, less productive and has repeated seizures is still employed and I am not! I work their 18 years as journeyman cabinet maker with broad skills, took no vactions, never late and seldem took any time off except for personal business and an occassional back ache. I dont understand it??

You need to contact a Texas workers compensation attorney. You need to see if there is workers compensation retaliation claim against your employer (i.e. they retalitated by firing you for making a work comp claim).
