Legal Question in Workers Comp in Texas

I have been working overseas in both Iraq and Aghhanistan for over 5 years. I recently returned to work in Iraq about 2 months ago. I have a different job than I used to and it is a very physical job. I use my hands alot and have developed carpal tunnel in both hands. This keep me up for several hours a night. My work here has been with the same company for the entire time. I have taken 2 breaks from here and returned to work in the states as a bartender. Bartending has not been a problem as far as the carpal tunnel is concerned. I first started to get it in 2004 while working in Afghanistan in another labor intensive job. I switched depts. after 6 months and it went away so I didn't report it at the time. I worked in that job for 4.5 years without incident. The main reason I didn't report it is because my company has a bad reputation for sending people home from overseas work at the least little hint of physical ailments. My question to you is do I have a possible or absolute case for workmens comp. benefits if I do now report the problem to the medics on staff? I cannot work in this dept. and go through this agony for very much longer. Please advise.

Texas work comp requires employees to tell their employers within 30 days of knowing an injury is caused by work....we find many people like u with good jobs who do not report injury and/or may tell of hurting but not that it is work related. and we can't help them...
