Legal Question in Employment Law in Trinidad and Tobago
my employers have been exposing employees to chemicals that cause us to feel dizzy and nautios. i complained on numerous occassions but to deaf ears. i was told in order to have a transfer from the deparment i needed a medical certificate.i did the medical and the tests show that the chemical has no immediate effects on me. the doctor, however, made a fit to certificate requesting atranfer but gave no obvious reasons. now my company refuses to pay me for my time of or tranfer me. i maintained my refusal to work however under the conditions they subject us to. can i take legal actions andseek compensation?

I suggest you get in contact with your trade union (or join a reputable one) so they can pursue the matter for you.
