my father died intestate, he owned property. how is the property to be divided between the spouse and the children

The distribution of an intestate estate is govern by statute, the Administration of Estate Act
Ch 9:01 Sections 24 to 26 of the revised laws of Trinidad and Tobago.
If there is a surviving spouse and no children the spouse gets the entire estate
If there is a surviving spouse and one child, both spouse and child gets one half each
If there is a surviving spouse and children the spouse gets half and the children shares the other half equally.
If there is no surviving spouse but one child, the child gets the entire estate
if there is no surviving spouse but children, the children shares the estate equally.
