Re: Definition of a Legal Entity
A legal entity is any person, proprietorship, partnership or corporation which has the legal capacity to enter into an agreement or contract and sue and be sued separately from its members. In other words, it must be an organization that can function with separate legal existence.
Therefore, a lose group of individuals would not normally constitute a legal entity since all of them would have to enter into agreements together and sue or be sued jointly.
The most common types of legal entities are probably companies.
