Legal Question in Family Law in United Kingdom

I am in the army and have been seperated from my estranged wife for nearly two years. I am desperate to divorce her but have no record of where she lives as she has been uncooperative. I am now with my new partner and would like us to get married before my next deployment next October (2010). What are my chances and what step do I need to take first?

Kind Regards

it is possible to ask the court to dispense with service of the divorce petition on your wife. This will involve placing a notice in a newspaper circulating in the area where she' last lived and showing that you have taken every possible step to locate her.

The petition would have to be based on her unreasonable behaviour or adultery as the two year separation ground is not available without her consent which obviously can't be obtainedt.

if you need further advice or help with an application to dispense with service please let us know.
