Child moving abroad
If my ex girlfriend whom I never married, was to move abroad and take our son with her is there any way of stopping her?

Re: Child moving abroad
Providing you have or are able to obtain parental responsibility for your child, your former girlfriend will need to obtain permission from the court before taking your child overseas. Whether you would be in a position to oppose such an application will depend on many factors and we would need to be fully instructed by you before advising.
You should bear in mind that there is nothing you can do to prevent your former girlfriend from moving overseas herself. If she is not to take your child with her, it will be necessary for you to put forward a care plan showing that it is in the child's best interests to remain in this country.
