Legal Question in Family Law in United Kingdom
Claim for compensation
I am being sued by my wife for compensation on the grounds of abandonment. We seperated in 1988 and have one son. I was a unviersity student at the time and she a lawyer. I did not seek a divorce until 2006. We earn the same now roughly but I have no assets. What can I do?

Re: Claim for compensation
Any financial claims by your former wife on divorce would appear totally ill-conceived. This would seem to be a classic case of where a clean break will be ordered and any continuing financial claim arising from this marriage dismissed.
Let us know if we can help further should she continue the claim.
