Legal Question in Family Law in United Kingdom

family rights

i got divorced about 2yrs ago , and have since had a baby to my new partner , but we live seperately at the moment, if i asked her to move in would she have any legal rights , to my assests and my property, as i own my home , and at the moment she lives in rented , (common law man and wife), if so what can i do to prevent this, as i was hung out to dry once before. and this is the only thing stopping me asking her and my son to move in , can you advise ???

Re: family rights

It is essential that you and your partner should enter into a cohabitation agreement before you start living together in your house. This will set out the terms of the cohabitation and can if so desired into a clause that your partner will have no interest or claims on your property if you should separate

A suitable cohabitation agreement can be downloaded at a nominal price from the Legal-Zone website.
