What you should do is stop worrying about the inadequacies of your baby's mother-which you can do nothing about-and start considering what you can do for your baby. Are you prepared to take on a parent's role and devote yourself to bringing up this child. If so you should preferably agree this with the mother but if this is not possible you should make an application to the court for a residence order. If this is not possible and you are either unable or unwilling to bring up your child then you should still consider what is best for it which could well be adoption.
