my wife and i separated in jan06 since april06 she refuses to pay half of mortgage and outstanding loan,is there anything i can do?.i have just recieved solicitors letter from her asking when the house will be sold as i am still in the house with my 15 year old son, who will be taking exams shortly,must i sell now?

The solution to this problem will depend upon whether or not you and your wife intend to divorce.If there is not to be a divorce it is unlikely that your wife could force you to sell but by the same measure it is unlikely that you will be able to force her to contribute towards the mortgage and loan. In divorce proceedings both of these matters and all other financial matters arising from the marriage must be decided but without further information I am unable to advise whether divorce would be in your favour.
