can my ex husband decide who can live in the marital home, he pays half the mortgage and wants me to sign something to say only myself and my daughter are to reside there?

Your former husband is unlikely to be able to dictate who lives with you in the former matrimonial home. You should certainly not sign anything before taking proper legal advice and you might care to let one of our lawyers look at what he wants you to sign at
