Not knowing wereabouts of spouse
My partner would like to get divorced from his wife whom he has been seperated from for over 5 years now but does not know where she resides to send any court papers to.He has spoken to 3 different solicitors whom have all told him he needs an address to send this to, others have told him he doesn't need the address.Can u please help with this matter as it's proving a problem trying to find an address for her. Thank you.

It will be necessary for your partner to include with his petition for divorce an application to dispense with service upon his wife. This application must contain a statement showing the efforts which have been taken to establish her whereabouts. This may include contact with all known relatives and possibly an advertisement in a newspaper circulating in the area where she last lived.
