law after death

Married couple for 31yrs husband owns property not in joint name, husband has left everything in a will, property and money to his blood family,if husband dies will the home and money have to be split with his wife or will his blood family have everything, leaving his wfe with no home which she has contibuted to for 30 yrs.

The will of this husband quite clearly does not make reasonable financial provision for his wife of 31 years. This is exactly the circumstances for which the Inheritance (provision for family and dependants) Act was passed. The wife would be entitled to make a claim within six months of the death for reasonable financial provision from her deceased husband's estate. Provision similar to that which would be made on divorce is likely to be granted.
