Legal Question in Family Law in United Kingdom
My married boyfriend and my flat
I have been with my boyfriend for a year(we met after he separated) and own my own flat, which I have let out. My boyfriend and I are renting another one. He is separated and has two children, who live in the family home with his wife. He supports them all as she has never worked. They have started divorce proceedings. I want to buy another flat and have started to do so. It will all be in my name but he will pay me rent. My question is, when the divorce comes through, will the ex wife have a claim on either of my flats? Is there anything I should do to ensure she won't?

Re: My married boyfriend and my flat
I am pleased to be able to set your mind at ease.
Neither of your two flats comprise the matrimonial assets of your boyfriend so as to affect his eventual divorce settlement. Thus his wife would have no claim against them. The only possible relevance is that by living with you his housing needs are satisfied which would otherwise be a factor in the divorce settlement
